The initiative will bring evidenced-based research to the forefront of Asia’s leading policy discussions – because FACTS MATTER!

Hong Kong — The Alliance for Trade Integrity launched a new initiative today that will work to bring lasting solutions to regulatory issues, where innovation has disrupted traditional business models. The Centre for Fact-Based Policy will commission evidenced-based studies from the top research institutes in Asia, and convene key stakeholders for ongoing and strategic discussions in an environment that is conducive to making progress on important issues.

“Consumers are demanding these new products and services, yet the regulatory process, in many cases, is stymied by either entrenched interests or false information. We clearly see the need to reset the discussion on terms that are rooted in facts rather than emotion,” said Jackson Cox, the Founder of the Alliance for Trade Integrity.

The Centre for Fact-Based Policy will launch its first major policy study in early 2020, with an examination of the regulatory performance of key markets in the Asia-Pacific region. The index and report will be used to acknowledge the progress that has been made on a number of issues in recent years, and also highlight where more attention needs to be paid by policy makers and regulators.
